We are MARCHing toward the end of the year here at I A Lewis and not only does that mean continuing to prepare and practice for the spring LEAP test, but also looking toward next year and getting ready to become Ruston Junior High BearKits! Please make a note that on the 25th there will be a PARENT MEETING for all NEW students enrolling at RJHS next year. If you cannot make this date, there will be another opportunity offered in April. Goodwill Lunching is bringing a BOOKFEST to I A Lewis! Members of this non-profit commnunity service organization will be on our campus Monday to give students the chance to leave school with FREE books! Thank you for supporting reading at I A Lewis. We love our Ram Fam!

IAL families: Just a reminder that tomorrow, Thurs, Feb 13th will be a Virtual Day for all students, and no students will report to campus. Students should access and complete assignments on Google Classroom tomorrow. Fri, Feb 14th will be a reward day for being an "A" district, and there will be no school. Mon, Feb 17th is President's Day, and all campuses will be closed in observance. We will see all students back on campus on Tues, Feb 18th.

We LOVE our Rams! February brings a chance to show love, kindness, and charity to our community and this month we will be collecting pennies to donate to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Students will be shown generosity with an extra day off from school, a special dress up day, and the IAL Bookfest (students get FREE books!). I A Lewis School’s Celebrity Rams for the 2nd nine weeks were treated to breakfast and a visit from local celebrity Miss Grambling State University Jess’Lyn Dakerra Sanders! On Wednesday, January 29, 2025, Miss Grambling met with students who earned the principal’s list (4.0 GPA) and those nominated by their teachers for being exemplars in working hard and having a positive attitude. During her visit with students, Miss GSU encouraged students to be a palm tree–be flexible, be strong, and be kind; students enjoyed learning how to be a campus ambassador while balancing academics with social activities. Thank you Miss Grambling for your visit!
Happy belated New Year I A Lewis Rams! The begining of this year has been quite a whirlwind so far, but 2025 is our year to thrive! Students have been working diligently to end the 1st semster on a positive note and we are looking forward to behavior and academic rewards at the end of this month. Thursday, Dec 19th: This is our last school day before Christmas break. Students may wear holiday pajama pants/holiday pajamas to school. No leggings or excessively tight or low cut items may be worn. Pajamas should not have inappropriate slogans or pictures. Students should wear REGULAR shoes to school. Don't forget that Friday, Dec 20th is a Virtual Day for students.

Tomorrow is the LAST day we will be collecting cans for the canned food drive. We are so proud of our I A Lewis Rams; there have been over 1,000 cans collected for our community. The kids (and adults!) have really enjoyed competing to see which team will bring the most cans. At this time, Team B is in the lead, but just barely. Let's finish strong and continue helping our neighbors this holiday season.

Happy Holidays! Our IAL Rams are ready for the holiday festivites as we have lots of fun and exciting things to look forward to the month of December. Currently, we are in the middle of a heated competition with our canned food drive as each team is serious about helping those in need---and earning extra recess! The month will end with our PBIS reward---our annual Reindeer Games!! A copy of the calendar went home with students on Monday of this week.
